Couples Therapy & Relationship Issues
Relationships can often be challenging.
Sometimes seeking help through couples therapy seems like the only way to change things.
Why Choose Couples Therapy
Deciding on couples counselling is hard. Your relationship is important, and you want someone who will take care of you while helping you to resolve problems that sometimes seem impossible.
You need someone who specializes in working with couples, understands what you’re going through and can help you to find your way through the pain.
Maybe I can help. I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Couple therapy (EFT).
I have worked with many couples and have helped them to create lasting change in their relationships.
I work hard to make sure that together, we explore the patterns and dynamics that are getting in the way of closeness and safety in your relationship.
I see relationship problems as being something that both of you play a role in creating and sustaining.
I don’t judge either of you – I know that you are doing your best and just want to get your needs met.
I help you find what’s in the way of that and help you to talk to each other so that you create understanding, compassion and closeness.
I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Couple therapy, a therapy sustained by extensive research.
I also offer individual therapy, especially for people struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression or other challenges that are getting in the way of living a full and happy life.
Relationship therapy is not an effort to assign blame.
Some people fear they will be blamed if they see a therapist, while others hope their partner will be singled out for causing relationship problems.
The purpose of couples therapy is to improve your relationship by exploring relationship dynamics that have caused conflict or distance and by finding effective ways to talk about what’s really going on emotionally while improving mutual empathy for partners.
