A lack of communication can ultimately lead to low morale. Because ineffective communication can create misunderstandings, dismissive, conflict, the dissemination of misinformation, and mistrust, couples feel overall defeated.

  • Phone, social media

  • Casual jealousy

  • Using Aggressive words

  • Unrealistic expectations

  • Lack of expressing feelings

  • Blaming

  • Keeping score

  • Not thinking what your partner loves/likes

  • Lack of listening skills

  • Lack of empathy

  • Sarcasm and put-downs

Phone and social media

We all know the phone is the best method for connecting to everything in the world, so many of us addicted to having our own phone from the minute we wake up in the morning until we go to bed at night.

Everyone uses the phone for internet surfing, social media, email and contacting people via WhatsApp (cheaper for sending photos and video), looking at Instagram, and other social media platforms.

Imagine if you have all these accounts, you need to check each one of them and follow the world through each one of these applications. So, you need hours and hours of surfing, right?

When are you going to have time and energy to get engaged with your partner to communicate with him/her. You might not have much left for anything else. Sometimes disagreements might happen, and finding difficulties expressing your feelings will lead to some problems. You might feel jealousy of the phone because your partner is spending more time on the phone but not with you.

Or while your partner is talking to you and you are busy with surfing, it is rude and comes across as dismissive, irrespective of what they want to share and talk about.

Next week I’ll be talking about casual Jealousy.
